The baby shower phenomenon has been around for many years and even
though it is called a baby shower, it is mainly attended by mothers and
mothers to be. They are mainly conducted before the baby arrives though
in certain cases it may be done after the birth of the baby. This may
depend on the host or the mother in question. The main reason the shower
is done is to congratulate the expectant mother on the impending birth
of the child or to congratulate the mother on the arrival of the child.
Women mainly attend them though their male counter parts could have
provisions made for them.
There are many ways the baby shower can be conducted depending on the
culture of the community it is being held at. The shower is mostly held
at the home of the mother to be though there can be exceptions to this
if it is for many mothers at the same time or if it is for more than one
mother. Numerous activities are done during the shower that include
different bonding sessions, games and even gift giving for the expectant
mothers. Baby showers are not only fun but also they test the creativity
of the host to the maximum. Any food that is to be taken should not only
be filling but creative enough to keep the guests happy. The games
should also be engaging and the type of games that can be played should
not be limited by the age of the attendees. The funnier the game the
more memorable for the host and the attendees.
The games should be short and creative as well as easy to accomplish. It
is better to have many short games as opposed to fewer long games that
may end up becoming a chore for ht attendees. The entire shower should
be as engaging as possible and the host is allowed to be as creative as
possible. There are many types of games to choose from whether in or out
doors and this is regulated by the weather and the space available. If
the number of ladies attending the shower is high, it can be held
outdoors to accommodate them adequately. Children can also be included
in the games if they attend though their presence should be confirmed so
that they are well catered for. The kind of games the host chooses
should also have prizes attached to them to enhance the playing
experience and to engage the players even more.
The shower should always have a theme for the guests to indulge in and
where possible there should be the inclusion of party favors that they
can take hoe after the shower is over. Baby showers should be joyful
events that the attendees will always remember. At the end of the
shower, the different items that were used in the games can be
distributed among the participants for keeps sake. As such, there will
always be a souvenir of the great time they had at this particular
shower.
